He's Heeeeeeere!!!

After 9 long months of anxiously waiting - Joseph Andrew Placek was born on December 9, 2010 at 7:15 am. He weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. We were surprised by a number of things. First - I didn't think he would be born until at least December 20th. Second - he weighed 2 lbs more than Evelyn so he was so much bigger than anticipated. And, third, he had a full head of long dark brown hair! We can't get enough of his bright eyes and big squishy cheeks :)

Labor and delivery went really well and were ready to go home as soon as possible on the 10th. Unfortunately he was a little jaundice and had to wear 'the lights' at home for 5 days. Other than that he was perfectly healthy and happy and has been such a joy and amazing addition to our family!
